Player’s Gold Leaf was first manufactured in the United Kingdom by the Imperial Tobacco Group. In most other countries where it was or is made, it is manufactured by British American Tobacco.
In Canada, it was introduced in 1963 by Imperial Tobacco Canada, though the brand did not acheive lasting success, being discontinued a few years later.
