Crown cigarettes are or have been produced in Canada, Cyprus, Georgia, and the United States. In Canada, Crown was manufactured starting in 1958 by Imperial Tobacco Canada as a king-size, recessed filter cigarette. The brand did not last for very long, disappearing in the 1960s. In Cyprus, the brand is still being made; it was produced by Rothmans of Pall Mall (Cyprus) Ltd., which was taken over by British American Tobacco in 1999.
