The history of "BTF" goes back to June 1915, when a Biysk merchant D. I. Shipilov set out to growing tobacco and erecting a tobacco factory. During the years that followed common tobacco was the main article produced by the factory. It was not until 1963 that the most popular trademarks of Soviet cigarettes of 60-s 80-s, such as "Pamir", "Kazbek", "Belomorkanal", "Prima", "Astra", and "Luch", appeared. New prospects for further advancement of the factory were opened in 1992, when the state-owned enterprise "BTF" was transformed to an open joint-stock company.
