Brand Cavalier

The American version of Cavalier cigarettes were produced by R. J. Reynolds Tobacco. Originally introduced in the 1940s as a king-size non-filter, it was meant to be a companion to their successful Camel cigarette brand, although it never became popular. Cavaliers were also a sponsor on the early episodes of the game show "I've Got a Secret", until it was replaced by Winstons around 1956. It was reintroduced some time later in a wide range of varieties.

The Canadian version was produced by R. J. R. Macdonald, and made in the 1970s. It has long since been discontinued.

Cavalier cigarettes are also made in Ecuador and Turkey. Camel cigarettes was the first cigarette company to stake a claim in the major daytime TV programming with Cavalier cigarettes, an R.J. Reynolds product.
