The Canadian version of Winchester cigarettes were produced by Imperial Tobacco Canada. It was one of their older brands; it is unknown when they were first introduced, but the trade mark was registered in 1931. They disappeared from the Canadian market during the 1960s.
The American version was produced by R. J. Reynolds Tobacco; the filter version was introduced in 1970, while the menthol was brought out in 1974. Winchester cigarettes are also produced in Switzerland and Roumania.
