MS (Filtro) /KS-20-S/ - Italy
MS was the most popular Italian cigarette from its birth to today. MS, acronym of "Monopoli di Stato" (the national Italian tobacco industry) were launched on the market in 1973 as an alternative to Marlboro, but at a lower price. Like Marlboro, MS have blond tobacco of bitter taste, but not equally aromatic. Their filter is particular, as a decoration of coupled rings is placed all around the paper. This motive has been recently abandoned for a simpler graphic. Initially available only in soft package and King Size tobacco, MS were sold from end of 70's also in hard package and Long Size tobacco. This last version, unless it has the same price, is less diffused.
