Brand Casino

In 1970, Imperial Tobacco got into trouble with a brand of cigarettes called Casino. This brand contained potential instant winnings of $5 to $100. A printing error on game cards resulted in consumers winning prizes repeatedly. Some people were claiming winnings of $20 000 and $30 000, but Imperial Tobacco, at least at one point, refused to honour many claims. Once the error was discovered, the company quickly removed the brand from the market. Imperial eventually paid out vast sums of money.
