Brand Casino

In Canada, Casino cigarettes were introduced circa 1970 by Imperial Tobacco. They included contest cards containing potential instant winnings of $5 to $100, but Imperial Tobacco got into trouble with a printing error on the game cards, which resulted in consumers winning prizes repeatedly. Some people claimed winnings of $20,000 and $30,000, but the company, at least at one point, refused to honour many claims. Once the error was discovered, the brand was quickly removed from the market. Imperial eventually paid out vast sums of money over the error.
