In 1929, Buckingham cigarettes sponsored the Buckingham Booster Radio Orchestra. These cigarettes would grow in popularity to eventually hold 80% of the Canadian market for blended cigarettes. 1930 marked an interesting turn of events, as the Tuckett Tobacco Company was itself acquired by the Imperial Tobacco Company of Canada. American companies are expanding their overseas production. Philip Morris in England has installed additional cigarette making and packaging machines at its London factory, largely as a result of Marlboro's success. Celanese Corpo- ration of America has announced plans to produce acetate cigarette filter tow in Belgium. Carreras has introduced a new filter cigarette called Buckingham.
