Brand Accord

The American version of Accord was produced by Philip Morris; it was part of a system that, when used, was reputed to reduce the emissions and odours from the specially-made cigarette.

The Canadian version of Accord was introduced circa 1981 by Benson & Hedges (Canada) Ltd., which merged with Rothmans in 1986 and became Rothmans, Benson & Hedges. It was available in king size (85 mm) in packets of 20 (flip-top box) and 25 (slide and shell). An ultra-mild cigarette (3 mg. of "tar"), they were discontinued circa 2006.

Around that time, R. B. & H. relaunched Dumont cigarettes; however, Imperial Tobacco of Canada sued Rothmans over the pack's design; Imperial argued that it too closely infringed the design of du Maurier. As a result, Dumont cigarettes were renamed Accord. This incarnation is a full-flavoured, value brand, and is available in Full Flavour, Menthol, and Select (formerly Light).
