BRAND BS - are the first letters of the words Balkans' Star (or "The Star of the Balkans") the brand has the name of the manufactory, founded 1850 by the russian merchant N. F. Dunaev. The name "Dunaev" comes from the name of the river Danube, the second longest River in Erope (after the Volga). The Danube flowes through the Balkans. May be it was one reason, why Dunaev called his manufactory "The Star of the Balkans"
The name "The Star of the Balkans" was given after the war against the Ottoman Empire for independence of Bulgaria with patriotic background.
